Careers Overview
Alpha Capital is seeking a select number of investment banking interns. Your work will include assisting the principals on specific projects such as valuation, building financial models, writing teasers and pitch books, valuation and identifying investors. Recent client work has included a sale of a technology company, an acquisition by Foxconn in Taiwan, a merger of two social media companies, advising the company that performed the first blood test for breast cancer and a sell side assignment of a large financial service company.
In addition, and just as importantly, you will intensively train under the personal mentorship of Mr. Jack Bloom, a senior banker with more than 25 years of experience. Our students come from Ivy League schools and select non-target schools. You will become fluent in valuation and financial modeling, including comparable companies analysis and DCF analysis, in addition to LBO valuation and full merger modeling. You will also be involved in pitch book presentations and equity research.
You will have something important and respected to put on your resume. Our internship program is the first step on the path to a career in investment banking. You will receive personal attention, mentorship and gain the ability to assist in real deals at any firm. Our interns go on to positions with many prestigious institutions.
Students who have worked with us have gone onto bulge bracket firms such as Goldman, Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Warburg and many other large firms. Students have also achieved positions with middle-market firms.
Investment Banking Analyst Intern Program
A highly selective program for undergraduate and graduate students with a passion for financial markets, entrepreneurship and a strong desire to pursue a career in investment banking. All analysts will work alongside senior bankers and be mentored step by step by our Harvard- and MIT Sloan-trained president, Mr. Jack Bloom.
All summer and off-cycle analysts will gain exposure to a variety of live transactions in addition to progressing through our robust, in-house training program. Our analyst training program was established in 2011 and has been constantly updated to meet the expectations of hiring managers at the world’s most elite banks and investment firms.
This internship can fulfill college credit requirements. Our work qualifies for OPT and CPT for international students.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (highly preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel and Word, financial modeling experience, familiarity with CapitalIQ, Thomson One, Bloomberg, SEC.gov
- Understanding of corporate finance, accounting, valuation fundamentals
- Pursuing a degree at a top-tier university, possess a strong GPA and have record of relevant coursework
- Acute attention to detail, pursue perfection
- Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to find avenues to bring in new business
Responsibilities:
- Completing firm training program, including case studies on three-statement and LBO models, DCF analysis, M&A accretion and dilution, merger analysis with credit statistics, financing options and operating scenarios
- Supporting senior bankers on all transactions
- Extensive three-statement and LBO financial modeling of companies in current deals based on historical financials, research and industry reports, IOI and/or LOI figures
- Creating exceptionally in-depth discussion materials (teasers and pitch books)
- Researching potential pitches, deals, doing due diligence on potential clients
- Creating firm marketing materials in Word and Excel for potential deals

Investment Banking Analyst Intern Program (Remote)
Alpha Capital works extensively with Chinese firms and investors, and our lean firm structure allows for remote analysts throughout the year to contribute to current engagements. Our remote version of the Investment Banking Analyst Intern Program receives the same strict training and mentorship opportunities as in-house bankers through weekly conference calls and daily communication with senior bankers. The same work and quality expectations are held for remote interns as are held for in-house interns.

Investment Banking Associate Intern Program
A highly selective program for graduate students and graduates of accredited three- and four-year bachelor’s degree programs with a passion for financial markets, entrepreneurship and a strong desire to pursue a long-term career in investment banking. All associates will work alongside senior bankers and be mentored step by step by our Harvard- and MIT Sloan-trained president, Mr. Jack Bloom.
All summer and off-cycle associates will gain exposure to a variety of live transactions in addition to progressing through our robust, in-house analyst training program as necessary.
Our work qualifies for OPT and CPT for international students.
Qualifications:
- Graduated from top-tier university with bachelor’s degree and have 1-3 years relevant banking, buy side or accounting experience or currently pursuing related graduate degree
- Possess a strong GPA and have a record of relevant coursework
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (highly preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel and Word, financial modeling experience, familiarity with CapitalIQ, Thomson One, Bloomberg, SEC.gov

Responsibilities:
- Completing modules of the firm training program as needed, including case studies on three-statement and LBO models, DCF analysis, M&A accretion and dilution, merger analysis with credit statistics, financing options and operating scenarios
- Supporting senior bankers on all live transactions, including analyzing legal documents, having an opinion, reading up on current and relevant news every day
- Taking a lead role on all active deals
- Managing and assisting junior bankers in all aspects of the deal process, assisting junior bankers in their training and professional development
- Leading junior bankers in extensive three-statement and LBO financial modeling of companies in current deals based on historical financials, research and industry reports, IOI or LOI figures, showing them how to correct their mistakes
- Doing deep research into client and target companies, preparing reports and presentations for internal discussion
- Leading the creation of, actively contributing to exceptionally in-depth discussion materials (teasers and pitch books)
- Generating and investigating pitch ideas, researching potential deals, doing due diligence on potential and current clients
- Actively sourcing deal leads and setting up meetings with potential clients
